Building on its existing strong network with sports clubs across the East Midlands, Moulton College is delighted to announce its latest partnership with Coventry Rugby Club.
The partnership with the College’s Rugby Academy will provide high-quality teaching and facilities for Club players, with the opportunity for Moulton’s students to experience elite level training and competition. Students will be supported by professional coaches both at the College, and through links to the Club and have opportunities to play in the Championship.
Ross Stewart, Academy Manager at Coventry Rugby Club said:
“I’ve worked with Moulton College for a number of years so know all about the facilities they have and the quality of players they can produce. We enjoyed having Moulton players represent the Coventry under 18s last season and they showed that they deserve to have these kinds of opportunities.”
Phil Powell, Head of Rugby at Moulton College commented:
“We’re always striving to provide the best opportunities for our academy players, and this partnership further supports this goal. Our Rugby Academy students will access a 16-23 pathway into elite rugby which is a fantastic opportunity. We’re already working to support the development of future Coventry players with multiple Moulton students receiving academy contracts. Working with the Club more closely will only strengthen our existing relationship.”
Ross added:
“We’re excited to finalise a partnership with Moulton but it is just one piece in the jigsaw for us. Our ambition is to combine rugby with academic studies for players all the way from 16 to 23 years of age and to work with schools, colleges and universities throughout the region.”
