We are committed to delivering our business in a sustainable manner, by minimising our impact on the environment, promoting sustainability and incorporating environmental best practise into our teaching and learning.
As a specialist land-based college we believe that we are ideally placed to inspire and educate future generations on how they can influence and improve the world in the future.
Our plans are based on the FE Climate Action Roadmap and the five key action areas from the DFE's Sustainability and Climate Change Strategy and these have been translated into the following Sustainability Strategy:
Our ambition to become a carbon neutral college will permeate throughout the organisation and be evident in all we do:
- Sustainability will be at the heart of everything we do
- We will become a sustainability centre of excellence for land based studies
- We will provide a sustainable environment for students and staff to learn and work in
- We will embed skills required to help reduce carbon emissions and improve sustainability into our curriculum to support our students within their chosen careers
- We will focus curriculum growth on future technologies and environmental sustainability

- Virtual Reality training to support learning
- EV charging point installed
- Solar panel training rigs installed for teaching
- Energy survey completed
- Rewilding project undertaken in the arboretum
- Water harvesting system installed at the cattle shed
- Electric vehicle leased for use by the Security Team
- Flexible working policy implemented for staff
- Bike to work scheme launched
- Prospectus size and print run reduced
- Printed marketing materials now produced using recycled paper stock
- Efficiency gains made through transport route planning
