Our Level 2 Technical Certificate in Floristry is designed to provide you with creative skills and commercial understanding within the Floristry sector.

Our course will provide you with the skills to take your career in the Floristry business to the next level - whether that's joining an Event Management Consultancy or starting your own business.

Our Floristry students have access to an exciting range of specialist resources at the College. Our Floristry workshops are fitted with industry-standard cold storage, display areas and photography areas. You will take advantage of our ornamental grounds containing a wide range of flora.

Guided by our specialist staff and expert guest lecturers you’ll learn fundamental skills to create artistic displays and develop a detailed understanding of the industry.

Due to our strong industry links you will also have the opportunity to take part in industry visits and in industry competitions including FleurEx where you will learn and develop practical skills that will be vital for your future in floristry.

You will explore the different use of colours in floral designs. Through theorectical and practical learning you will progress your skills in floral designs for weddings and diverse hand tied designs. Additionally you will explore proper maintenance of plant conditions.

You will be required to buy Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for this course. For a full list of equipment required click here.

All flowers and other tools and equipment are provided free of charge by the College.

This is a full time course taking place on three full days per week. There will be a mix of practical and theoretical work which are split into two hour lessons. You will have regular breaks including a lunch break.

Vocational and professional qualifications are taught through college based theory and practical lessons with further learning and understanding developed via directed self-study.

Assessment consists of internally set coursework and assignments, although some professional and vocational qualifications may require the achievement of externally set assessments.

You could progress to a Level 3 Diploma or apprenticeship. Alternatively, you may go on to work as a commercial florist, or floristry shop worker.

Four GCSEs at grade 2-3 (D-E) or above or a Level 1 Diploma in a related subject
