Duration 1 year

This course will support students who wish to progress on to a Level 2 mainstream course.

It includes vocational options offering you exciting opportunities to learn and undertake practical activities with our animals and horses as well as on our farm and natural environment.

This course is particularly useful if you have already been a student in Foundation Learning or if you are joining us having experienced anxiety or health issues in the past.

During this course you will study a range of units including:

  • Being organised
  • Developing a personal progression plan
  • Running an event
  • Preparing and cooking food
  • Caring for and feeding animals

You will also be expected to study maths and English with mainstream students to help support the transition.

You will be able to progress onto a Level 2 course in a mainstream environment in your chosen vocation.

We can also provide advice about alternative external provisions if progression at Moulton is not an option.

No formal qualifications are required, but you will need to attend an interview to identify your interests and support needs.

If you complete all course work you will achieve a level 1 BTEC Introductory Certificate in Vocational Studies.

During your course you will study environmental issues such as air pollution, global warming, litter and biodiversity. You will complete a practical study which may include ways to reduce electrical output and water in the home. You will also learn about recycling and the benefits of promoting biodiversity for bees, butterflies and birds.
