Delivering Skills,
Boosting Businesses
We're proud to be part of a collaborative effort with leading institutions across the South-East Midlands region, driven by the Local Skills Improvement Fund (LSIF).
Working hand-in-hand with employers, we co-create a curriculum that evolves to meet changing industry skills priorities. Our employer liaison forums facilitate rich insights from over 100 regional businesses, and we partner with sector bodies to stay attuned to labour market demands. This allows us to design programmes that map tightly to vocational routes with current skills shortages.
We also embed real-world learning through industry placements, visiting speakers, practical workshops and site visits. Our students gain exposure to professional environments and build networks setting them up for future success. Work experience opportunities allow them to put their skills into practice while developing the behaviours and attitude valued by employers.
Many students undertake voluntary roles that benefit the community, from conservation projects to sports coaching. We are proud that our courses help tackle regional skills gaps, whether producing more job-ready veterinary nurses or equipping young people with construction skills to support key infrastructure projects.
It is testament to this rigorous employer-led approach and community spirit that over 90% of our students’ progress to positive destinations like skilled employment, apprenticeships or higher education. They become the future workforce fuelling our local economy across sectors like healthcare, agriculture, hospitality, public services and more.
At the heart of everything we do is meeting the needs of our region – through shaping work-ready graduates, responding to employer priorities, and building meaningful partnerships. Our staff, students and partners share a commitment to developing skills that drive prosperity and opportunity across our community."
By working closely with employers we can ensure that the courses and skills being taught to young people and adults fill the skills gaps within our local community and the wider sectors. Check out some of the ways that you can work with us to inspire and train your future workforce.
