As part of Bethany's course, she has taken on two work placements in Residential Care homes working with the elderly.
She tells us:
“I love working with the elderly, making them tea, chatting and listening to their stories. I hope to eventually secure some form of paid employment at one of them at the end of the course.
The Supported Internship course has allowed me to grow in confidence, be more outgoing and independent. I have learnt some valuable skills through all the Employability Units I’ve completed which I’ve been able to take into the work place. My social and communication skills have increased due to my interaction with others, which in turn has helped me to deal with hurdles that I’ve encountered along the way. The Job Coaches have been great in supporting me every step of the way”.
