We are currently looking for an experienced H&S professional to come and join our team. You will play a pivotal role in driving a positive health and safety culture across our site influencing staff and students on a daily basis. As a college we operate and train in a range of disciplines including arboriculture, agriculture, construction trades, food and drink, sport and animal welfare. Additionally, the college offers residential accommodation and operate a number of commercial activities on site including extensive sports facilities, commercial events and a large farming estate which means this is a diverse and extremely rewarding role. You will work with our industry professionals to uphold safe and best practice activities in all areas of our business.
You will be working in a standalone role reporting to the Chief Operating Officer to champion positive engagement in health and safety management. Key aims of this post will be:
- To foster and promote a positive culture of Health & Safety
- Provide Health & Safety support and advice for the College
- Provide health and safety support to ensure that practices and procedures comply with current legislation and College policies
- Monitoring and auditing of risk management policies and procedures
- Providing occupational health support and advice for the college

The successful candidate’s knowledge, skills, experience, abilities and qualities will include:
- Minimum of grade C in GCSE Maths and English Language (or equivalent)
- NEBOSH Diploma in OH & S or equivalent qualification
- Full driving licence
- Experience of working in a similar role
- Experience of providing, briefings/training to individuals and teams on Health & Safety matters
- Ability to write accurate reports for a variety of stakeholders
- Ideally, experienced with liaising with external enforcement agencies
